This was a new house built on the side garden of an existing semi-detached property. The design had to respond to a tight, narrow site, which slopes and tapers to the north-west. The building responds to the site constraints with a stepped plan and roof form. It’s in a conservation area therefore it was a requirement that traditional materials and detailing were used in the design.
